YouTube
Connect a YouTube channel through the Google account that manages it.
A connected channel can publish videos and Shorts, and its comments arrive in the inbox.
Before you start
- eksis publishes to a channel, not to a Google account. The Google account you sign in with has to own or manage one. If it has none, create a YouTube channel first.
Connect
Open the dialog
Select + next to Channels in the sidebar, then choose YouTube.
Pick the Google account
Choose the Google account that manages the channel and approve every permission.
Pick the channels
Tick the channel on Pick the accounts to connect and choose Connect.
If it does not connect
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| This Google account has no YouTube channel | Create the channel on YouTube, then connect again. |
| Google did not return a long-lived permission for this channel | Remove eksis at myaccount.google.com/permissions, then connect again. |
| Permission denied | Start again and approve every permission. |
Good to know
- In the composer, a YouTube post needs a Title and an Audience (whether the video is made for kids). Privacy (Public, Unlisted, or Private), Category, and Thumbnail sit on the same tab.
- From the inbox you can reply to, hide, and delete comments. YouTube has no API for liking a comment or for direct messages.
- eksis checks YouTube for new comments every few minutes, so a fresh comment can take a moment to appear.
- On Free, eksis publishes up to 10 videos per channel in any 24 hours.
- If eksis says "The daily YouTube API quota for eksis is used up", uploads resume after the quota resets at midnight Pacific time.
- Video rules: YouTube specifications.
