DEV Community

DEV Community publishes post. Text-only posts are allowed (post). Media accepted: images. Comments can be read but not acted on. Direct messages are not available. Post metrics are available. First comments are not supported. eksis publishes at most 30 posts per account per rolling 24 hours.

Settings

Options for DEV Community go in targets[].settings of create and update post requests.

A value of the wrong type, or outside the allowed values, is refused with 422 and the code validation.failed, drafts included. An unknown key is dropped and reported in data.warnings.

Comments and messages

First comment: not supported. The DEV Community API cannot write comments, so a first comment cannot be posted. A firstComment sent to this platform is refused with 422 and the code first_comment.unsupported.
Comments: read.
New comments reach eksis: checked every 10 minutes.
Private reply to a comment: not supported.
Direct messages: not available. DEV Community has no messaging API for third-party apps.

Analytics

Post metrics: comments.
Audience: follower count is tracked.

Daily limit

eksis publishes up to 30 posts per DEV Community channel a day. A post over the limit is postponed, not failed.
